Doosan Group

The Doosan Group is a major South Korean industrial conglomerate with interests in construction, machinery and other heavy industries. Late in 2015 the Firm won a key concession bid to operate a Downtown Duty Free Store in Seoul, replacing the existing retailer Lotte.

The Doosan Tower is a large city centre shopping mall, owned and run by the Group and this will be their first retail location for Duty Free Shopping. The Company are making a big marketing push to attract Chinese tourists to the region because they are the big spenders in this luxury goods market.

The South Korean Duty Free market is the largest in the world, with the spend per traveller way higher than almost all other countries and regardless of the fact that Arrivals Duty Free Shopping is not permitted.
