MNL | Manila Terminal 3
The Duty Free arrivals store at Manila Ninoy Aquino airport Terminal 3, can be found just after exiting the baggage claim area and it is to be branded 'Fiesta Arrivals Duty Free'. The store is being upgraded and enlarged over the next 18 months. There is also Duty Free shopping for those departing from this terminal on international flights.
In most countries, duty free on arrival is located in or near to the baggage claim area, but before you pass through Customs controls, whereas in this airport terminal, the shop is after Customs controls. In airport parlance, this area is known as 'landside', in other words, an arrival or a check-in area, but outside the Customs and Security controlled part of the airport. In fact, this type of store, outside the Customs area, is designated as a 'Downtown Duty Free Store', which is very common in Asia, even though it is right on the airport complex and not in the city.
Any visitor to the Philippines can shop in this location but there are certain purchase quotas and limits. For Filipinos, the allowance is USD$1000 and at this store, liquor and tobacco is available on arrival.
Some airline and airport retailers are yet to publish their online duty free prices and catalogues, others have now started incorporating online pre-order facilities.
