The Valiram Group was founded in Malaysia and their primary business is the retail, sale and distribution of luxury products, such as fashion, watches, perfumes and beauty products. The famous names of Mont Blanc, Piaget, Jimmy Choo, Victoria's Secret, Dunhill, Hugo Boss, Dior and Clinique are just a selection of the Brands marketed by this firm. Their airport stores span Asia and Eastern Europe, from Moscow, KLIA airport and Singapore Changi, down to Australia.

In the strict sense of the rules, Luxury Products are not actually 'duty free', only alchohol or tobacco products attract Excise Duty. The products retailed by this Firm are better described as 'Tax Free', in other words, without local sales tax, GST or VAT and the level of these taxes varies according to each country.

In Asia there are many downtown tax free stores and also the tax-refund system, so it it not necessarily any great advantage to buy in the airport, (where the taxes are automatically deducted for you), because the savings will have little difference compared to the Tax Free Stores.

Where ever you choose to buy, you will be required to carry the goods with you onboard your flight, rather than with checked baggage, because for a Tax Refund, Customs need to inspect your goods before departure. This system gives the airport shops or downtown duty free stores a slight advantage, because you do not have to queue for a Tax refund when you use this method to buy.

But, because this Group sell expensive high value luxury items, even a 5% tax refund can add up to a substantial saving.
