WH Smith is not really a Travel Retailer, more a retailer of news, books and convenience products in travel locations, such as airports, railway stations and ports. It is unlikely that most of the goods sold by these stores are Tax-Free as the categories do not really qualify for such discounts. Some books or paperbacks are often released in airports, before domestic markets, but the ability to download books now may have changed how the market works.

Internationally, WH Smith have a broad range of outlets in Ireland, and India and appear to now be looking at China.
