Malaysian DFZ Group own the ZON Duty Free retail outlets in the country and have a wide spread of different outlets across the region. The most interesting is a complete port and free zone complex in Johor Bahru near Singapore. This is a special tax-free enclave with a hotel, bars, restaurants and a shopping mall, all selling goods at duty-free prices. There is also a pier with a port store, where the ferries run to Indonesia.

In other parts of the country the Firm has stores on the border with Thailand, airport stores in Kuala Lumpur and also on the tax-free islands of Penang and Lankawi. Malaysia is actively promoting their country as a duty-free destination so to attract tourism.
