Mannah Duty Free - La Petisquera

The 'La Petisquera' and Mannah Duty Free Group are one of the same, both involved in duty-free retail and distribution in Paraguay, South America, a country with lower prices and in some cities, lower taxes, compared to their neighbours Brazil and Argentina.

Ciudad del Este (city of the east) is a frontier town whose commerce is based on cross-border shopping, primarily from Brazil. La Petisquera is the Firm's retail brand with three different stores within 200 metres of the Parana river crossing, all selling a range of goods at discount prices. Not only can visitors buy premium whiskies, cigars, perfumes and cosmetics, but now there is a growing trade in electronics. Duty-free televisions, laptops, tablets and the in-demand product, cellfones, can all be found at prices way below those found in the neighbouring countries. The Firm are now replicating these stores in other border towns such as Salto del Guairá.

Mannah have airport stores in the country, selling products both on departure and also after landing, with duty-free arrivals stores. They have upgraded these stores now and are placing more emphasis on the tax-free products, watches, jewellery and gifts.

Tourists and business travellers all seek a bargain on their travels, hence the many questions related to tax-free and duty-free shopping.
