Duty Free Americas (DFA) is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA and operates Duty Free Shops throughout the USA, The Caribbean and now Latin America.

The Falic brothers had previous retail experience in fashion and perfume products, when they bought DFI (Duty Free International) just over ten years ago from a European consortium.

The airport stores are mainly based on the US eastern seaboard, with outlets in locations such as Miami, Atlanta, Washington and Boston, but they have since purchased UETA, who owned all the stores on the US - Mexican border and and others on the US - Canadian border crossings. This gives the Firm a dominant position in the US cross-border duty free trade.

They are now expanding into Latin America and have replicated their border business into Uruguay and Venezuela, whilst also operating the arrivals and departure stores at Punta Cana airport in the Dominican Republic, a major tourist destination in the Caribbean and other locations in Central America. DFA also have a venture in the Tax Free haven of Macau a special territory in China.

DFA have just re-launched their online pre-order website 'duty free express' which currently only functions for orders at Miami airport, no doubt other locations are to follow shortly.
